We look after other people's security for a living, so we take our own seriously. This page explains, in plain English, what we collect when you use our website or get in touch, why we collect it, who helps us look after it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
This website is run by 4GNA Limited, trading as EmergeCyber. We are the "data controller" for the personal information described on this page, which means we decide how it's used and we're responsible for looking after it.
Gráinne Arif, our Operations Director, is responsible for data protection. If you have a question about anything on this page, email admin@emergecyber.com and she'll get back to you.
If you use the form on our Contact page, we collect your name, email address and your message. We use them to read your message and reply.
Why we're allowed to: it's in our legitimate interests to respond when you contact us, and it may be a step towards working together.
If you book a call through Calendly, we collect your name, email address and the time you've chosen. We use them to arrange and hold the call.
Why we're allowed to: the same reasons as above. You've asked to speak to us, and we need these details to set it up.
We keep your name, contact details and what we discussed so we can help you and pick up where we left off.
Why we're allowed to: our legitimate interests in responding and keeping track of conversations.
With your permission, we use Google Analytics to understand how people use our site, for example which pages are visited, how long people stay and roughly where they're visiting from. This uses cookies and collects information such as your device type, browser and the general area you're visiting from. Google Analytics doesn't store your IP address. We use it to make the website better. It doesn't tell us who you are.
Why we're allowed to: your consent. Analytics only runs if you accept it in our cookie banner, and you can change your mind at any time.
We may run online adverts, for example on LinkedIn or Google. If we do, any advertising cookies or tracking will only run if you've said yes in our cookie banner.
Why we're allowed to: your consent.
For full details of the cookies we use, see our Cookie Policy.
No. But if you'd like us to reply to a message or book a call, we need at least your name and email address. Without them, we can't get back to you.
We don't send marketing emails at the moment. If we start, we'll only email you with your permission or where the law allows it, and every email will include a simple way to unsubscribe.
We use a small number of trusted services to run our website and business. They only use your information to provide their service to us, and they're required to keep it secure.
If we start using a new service that handles your information, such as a mailing tool, we'll update this page.
We may also share information if the law requires us to, for example with the police or a regulator.
Some of the services above are based in the United States, so your information may be held there. When that happens, we make sure it's protected to UK standards, for example through the UK-US Data Bridge or contract terms approved for use under UK law.
Security is what we do. We protect your information with the same care we recommend to our clients, including restricted access, strong sign-in protection and encrypted services.
